Nairobi Governor, Mike Mbuvi Sonko has been arrested in Voi.

Sonko is being brought from Voi in police chopper. Will land at Wilson airport in 30 mins. Will then be driven straight to integrity Centre for processing.

This comes after Director of Public Prosecution Noordin Haji ordered for the arrest of  Sonko over graft allegations.

Speaking during a presser Noordin said,

'The investigations by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission and upon receiving an independently investigation file I have found enough evidence to warrant prosecution.

I have therefore ordered for the immediate arrest of Nairobi Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko and other persons.

Noordin added that the investigations have not been easy.

'The investigations into this case have not been easy due to the constant efforts by the accused to obstruct investigations by employing intimidation tactics.

In addition to using goons to threaten officials.'

It seems Sonko will spend his weekend in police custody.
