Diamond Platnumz' ex-girlfriend, Wema Sepetu faces spending nights in jail for jumping bail.

Kisutu Resident Magistrate Maira Kasonde issued an arrest warrant for 2006 beauty queen Wema Sepetu after she failed to appear in court for the hearing of a case where she is facing charges of being found in possession of 1.80 grams of marijuana.

Before reaching the decision State Attorney Silyia Mitano argued that the accused failed to appear in court as well as her surety. Wema was released after fulfiling the court demands to have two sureties, who were supposed to sign a Sh5 million bond.

She was first arraigned in court, accused of being found in possession of the illegal drug back in 2017, the case has been dragging on since.

Wema's lawyer Ruben Simwanza in her defence argued that Wema had reported in court as required but she fell ill suddenly and had to be rushed to the hospital.

The judge did not buy the explanation from the lawyer.

“If she came to court and left without informing the court, How will the court know that indeed she was in the premises?" the judge Kasonde pointed out before issuing a warrant of arrest.

The case was adjourned until July 4, 2019.
