Nepotism, corruption, tribalism are just some of the things that our country is characterised by. But as the days go by, things are changing.

We have seen many youths, the likes of singer Jaguar, rich kids Robert Momanyi and Steve Mbogo, Boniface Mwangi, Johnstone Sakaja just to mention but a few join politics and we hope that come August 8, Kenyans will translate their love into votes.

Well apart from politics, there are other Kenyans who have gone beyond the tribal borders and married from the Kikuyu tribe despite the stereotypical myths about female species from the mountain region. They are great examples and many have praised them for the bold move.

From Citizen TV's Willis Raburu to award winning gospel singer Daddy Owen, meet the prominent Kenyans who married Kikuyu women.

1. Willis Raburu

   Raburu quit the bachelor's club when he married the love of his life in a private wedding ceremony that was attended by their close family and relatives. His wife is the bubbly Mary Prude Raburu.

2. Daddy Owen

He chose the best! His wife is hot! Daddy Owen and Farida Wambui got married in 2016 after several years of dating.

3. Raila Jnr

He is the youngest son of the former Prime Minister and official opposition leader Raila Odinga. He married a while back. The two are blessed with two adorable children but they are always keeping a low profile away from the limelight.

4. Jacob Juma

The late businessman also married from the mountains. He and Miriam Wairimu his wife were blessed with two children. Juma was killed in 2016 by unknown gunmen and till today no one has been arrested concerning his death.

5. Alfred Mutua

The Machakos County boss has eyes for this beautiful woman. His wife Lilian Nganga is a stunning beauty. She always leaves tagging wagging whenever she steps out. The power couple doesn't have a child yet.

6. Kipchumba Murkomen

Elgeyo Marakwet Senator also went to central in search of his soulmate. He and Grace got married to each other a few years back and are blessed with three children.

7. Rufftone

Roy Smith Mwatia popularly known as  Rufftone is one talented artiste. The Mwikulu hit singer also married from the Kikuyu community just like his younger brother Daddy Owen. He married his wife Susan Njoki popularly known as Krystal, in a colourful wedding ceremony and they are blessed with two children.

 8. Babu Owino

The Embakasi East MP's wife is Fridah Muthoni Ongili. The two met at the University of Nairobi, where they were schooling. They have two kids.
