What you don't know about Sonko's newly appointed deputy Anne Mwenda

Anne Mwenda is the name on everyone's lips after she was appointed the Deputy Governor for Nairobi County by Governor Sonko.

Anne's appointment comes almost a year after Polycarp Igathe resigned from the same position.

Not much is known about Anne and below are details on the woman who might help run Nairobi County.

1. She was once a switchboard operator before moving on to the security industry to work as a supervisor at the Kenya Airports Authority.

2. She was born on May 1, 1980, thus she is aged 40.

3. Mwenda holds a diploma in criminology and security management from St Paul’s University, which she got in 2013.

4. She is currently the chief officer for disaster and acting chief officer of water at Nairobi county.

5. Anne lost her husband Philip Njiru in an Athi River road accident last year.

6. She served as a personal assistant at H Mugambi & Co Advocates.

7. She is a mother of two, sons.

We can only wait and see if her nomination will go through but in the meantime congratulations Anne Mwenda.

It's high time women take over and prove that women indeed run the world.
