As political beef begins to heat up, Kenyans are bracing themselves for the August 8th general elections. Latest news is that DP William Ruto has been dealt another blow as woman sues him for lack of child support.
The lady wants the court to compel Ruto to offer child support to the child whose name is withheld since she is a minor.
Through her lawyer Gitobu Imanyara, she said Ruto has refused to provide the minor with adequate child support.
“The respondent has failed to provide the minor with adequate and basic necessities such as good health, food, school fees, clothing, shelter and medication,” she said in a suit.
Imanyara said minor is in need of basic necessities since she is not able to adequately provide for the child.
“The defendant has eschewed and neglected his parental responsibility as demanded of him under the constitution of Kenya.”
The lawyer said the suit, filed at the Milimani Court, was urgent and the court should give them directions.
“Unless the application herein in certified urgent the minor will continue to suffer irreparable loss to healthy growth and educational development,” he said.
50-year-old DP Ruto is married to Rachel Ruto and they have been blessed with four children, two boys and two girls, who are carbon copies of the former Eldoret North MP.
