All about Jalango's hush hush Netflix deal for stand up comedy show

Kiss FM morning show co-host Jalango revealed on Mpasho Live that he has a pending project with Netflix but the current pandemic worked against it coming to fruition.

Speaking today with Kalondu Musyimi, Jalango opened up about his 2019 project titled Satan Must Repent.

It was a stand-up comedy show which was inspired by the daily struggle that common mwananchi goes through. The show basically aimed at inspiring and entertaining at the same time.

He said,

"Satan Must Repent was a stand-up comedy I wanted to do. Later, I had a discussion with Netflix's Dorothy Ghettuba - the manager for International Originals - who told me she was already discussing with Netflix to make the show the very first Netflix original from Kenya.

However, the pandemic hit and globally everything was put on hold.

Jalango added,

"Pray this corona ends so that we can get back to work."

Jalango's stand up comedy TV show would be joining the family of content on the streaming service.

It includes other Netflix Originals like Queen Sono, which debuted on Netflix in February, and Blood & Water.
