Former Nairobi Mayor George Aladwa came under fire after allegedly inciting people in Kibera last Tuesday during the Mashujaa Day celebrations. Aladwa was caught on camera saying that "ndio Raila akuwe president lazima watu kiasi wakufe,” which translates to "in order for Raila to be president, a few people must die."

The high court has since given police officers the go ahead to charge him.

"They can bring him to court to take plea any time they deem fit," Judge Joseph Onguto said earlier today. He however granted Aladwa the permission to file for termination of police charges against him. He has two weeks to make the application to the DPP.

The case will be mentioned on 30th November. Read more of the story on.
