The wife of a terrorist implicated in last Tuesday’s attack on dusitD2 hotel has been arrested.

Violet Kemunto Omwoyo was arrested on Friday morning in Makueni county. She is expected to appear in court.

Kemunto had lived with her husband, Ali Salim Gichunge – whom the police believe coordinated the attack – in house number E9 in Guango, since March 21, last year.

Kemunto, through a pseudo name on Facebook had put up a post offering to sell household property, saying the couple was moving out of Nairobi.

Several suspects have already been arrested and arraigned in court over the attack.

Last Friday, the State applied to have five suspects detained for 30 days to enable detectives to conclude the investigations.

The five are; Joel Nganga, Oliver Muthee, Gladys Kaari, Guleid Abdihakim and Osman Ibrahim.

The DPP also plans to charge Diamond Trust Bank with aiding and abetting the attack by allowing a suspect withdraw more Sh5 million in a day.

Hassan Nur made 13 withdrawals of Sh400,000 each within short intervals on January 4, with an additional withdrawal of Sh100,000 the same day.

The Anti-Terrorism Police Unit said the money was sent from South Africa and was wired to Somalia.

The Office of the DPP on Thursday said it is preparing charges against the bank and its officials.
