'Ain't excited about my birthday no more,' disturbing message by US soldier Mitch before he died

Henry Mitch Mayfield, one of the US Soldiers who died on Sunday in al-Shabab attack at Manda Bay in Lamu was a happy soul.

The 23-year-old soldier from Chicago was deployed in Kenya recently after he graduated basic training in October 2018.

Mitch's Facebook was filled with photos of his family and it's clear that he loved them so much.

On December 25, 2018, before he came to Kenya, Mitch shared photos of his family and captioned,

Love them with all my heart 🖤#.

ON October 10, 2018, the 23-year-old shared a post saying he wasn't excited about his birthday again.

ain't even excited about my birthday no more.

That was the last post he talked about his birthday and in 2019, he didn't post anything on his special day.

In another post, Mitch exposed 'fake' friends and he posted

y'all a** “I miss you” and “when you coming home” me to death but when I slide yall ain't on s**t.

His mother Carmoneta Mayfield revealed that the last time she heard from her son was on New Year’s Day on a FaceTime call and he told her that everything would be fine and that his base was safe.

He told me everything would be okay,” she said adding, those were his last words to me.
