The days of a thief are forty, so goes the saying and by the look of things time is running out for men and women who have been stealing from Nairobi's malls.

Jamia Mall - a shopping outlet that is located along Kigali Street - has become a shoplifters' paradise and there's need to put an end to this bad habit before it gets out of hand.

So dire is the situation that the people who own businesses in the building can no longer  suffer in silence.

The mall attracts genuine shoppers, but the people who visit it most are just looking to steal when no one is watching.

CCTV footage released to local media houses shows how a shoplifting gangs is  thriving in the "business" and the ease with which they leave the premises undetected.

In the video, a woman is seen walking into a shop that sells laptops  pretending that she is interested in buying a watch.

After a short while the she leaves but comes back minutes later. The lady heads straight to the laptop section and pretends that she is interested in acquiring one.

After pacing up and down, she decided to take a seat and is seen arranging the contents of her bag.

She then stands up and heads back to display section and picks a laptop before placing it in her back oblivious of the CCTV cameras.
