Twitter seems to have suspended award winning actress Nyce Wanjeri’s account.
This comes after she was named the Best Actress Comedy Movie/Series in the just concluded AMVCA Awards in Lagos Nigeria.
Nyce plays the ditzy househelp, Shiru, in the popular TV drama, Auntie Boss.
The excited actress told her fans:
“First of all, #GodNiMsoo!”
Adding, “This is one of the best times in my life, from an unknown village girl, to a Kenyan household name, and now an #AMVCA2018 award winner, recognized in Africa! I have the trophy at home to prove it but I still can’t believe it! God indeed is a master of Impossibilities!”
Nyce was going head to head with other big names in the film and TV industry from Nollywood like Rita Dominic, Adesua Etomi and Queen Nwokoye among others.
Nyce added, “But you know what, I took it to the Lord in prayer. On my knees is where the battle was won. Mine was one of the few categories where public voting determined the winner, sema wakenya kukuja 10 million strong, kuumira kuumira! I felt the love and continue to feel it!”
The excited star continued, “This time, Your votes counted and they counted massively, that is an actual report I received from a panelist after the win. Kenyans voted! So to all my fans, God bless you greatly! I love you all so much, I am really indebted to you!”
The actress continued, “Hii ndio wanaitaga kucheza Kando? Mama!! I made it!! Watch me from heaven and see my dream as we watched those naija movies.”
As she celebrates her win, she will not be able to get the congratulatory messages from Kenyans on Twitter or other tweeps from across the vast inter-webs.
Her account seems to have been suspended.
Twitter explains that an account is suspended when…
“Spam: Most of the accounts we suspend are suspended because they are spammy, or just plain fake, and they introduce security risks for Twitter and all of our users. These types of accounts are against our Twitter Rules. Unfortunately, sometimes a real person’s account gets suspended by mistake, and in those cases we’ll work with the person to make sure the account is unsuspended.”
Here are other reasons why they could suspend an account.
Account security at risk: If we suspect an account has been hacked or compromised, we may suspend it until it can be secured and restored to the account owner in order to reduce potentially malicious activity caused by the compromise.
Abusive Tweets or behavior: We may suspend an account if it has been reported to us as violating our Rules surrounding abuse. When an account engages in abusive behavior, like sending threats to others or impersonating other accounts, we may suspend it temporarily or, in some cases, permanently.
