Billionaire Chris Kirubi has sought to set the record straight on whether or not he intends to vie for the presidency in the near future.

After Donald Trump's victory in the just concluded U.S elections, many could not help but wonder whether he would follow in the latter's footsteps.

The business mogul stated that unlike Trump, he does not harbour any political ambitions and would rather take up an advisory role.

"I'm not going to follow Donald Trump. There are people who have been asking me to join politics but I think politics is another world," he said.

Giving examples of countries such as Ghana where he advised the top leadership of the country for close to six years, Kirubi reiterated that he felt such roles suited him.

“I used to advise the President of Ghana for six years. In those years, we made Ghana the best-performing country (economically) in Africa,”

He however lost his job after a hotly contested election that saw John Mahama become the new president of the country.
