Aden Duale is now a household name after his public phrase “hii pesa sio ya mama yako’ (this money does not belong to your mother). This was during the September 2014 when the National Assembly majority leader clashed with Governor Isaac Rutto during a public function in Narok town.

He accused him of squandering public funds. This time round, he went ahead to attack teachers who have refused to return to schools in Northern Kenya for fear of their security. The government has however been assuring them that security has been beefed up so they should go back. The area has been a hot spot for Al-Shabaab attacks in the recent year – with a bus attack and quarry mine invasion leaving over.

KNUT officials in Rift Valley have asked majority leader Aden Duale to stop using abusive terms to attack teachers who have boycotted work in parts of northern Kenya over insecurity. KNUT's Barnabas Lagat says Duale's constant reference to 'mothers' to dismiss other leaders is very offensive.
