Tattoos are a common artistry that people have embraced over the years. Most people get tattoos from maybe an experience, a memory that they want to live with forever or maybe as movement in support of something important to humankind.
Bubbly Kiss FM presenter Adelle Onyango loves her tattoos and each one of them has a meaning behind it. Well, she has now gotten a fresh tattoo, a semicolon (;).
In grammar, a semicolon is a punctuation mark indicating a pause, typically between two main clauses, that is more pronounced than that indicated by a comma.
But for the one she’s got, it’s all based on a project. Project Semicolon is an American mental health nonprofit organization that primarily functions as an anti-suicide initiative. Founded in 2013, the movement is aimed to “presenting hope and love to those who are struggling with depression, suicide, addiction, and self-injury”.
They have been known for encouraging people to tattoo the punctuation mark semicolon onto their bodies as a form of solidarity between people dealing with mental illness or death of someone from suicide.
Adelle has also joined the movement and she was accompanied by a very good friend of hers.
She took to social media to share the news saying, “”Project Semicolon exists to encourage love and inspire”. After over 10years of friendship, after all the challenges we have fought and won, and those we are still fighting, @misslwile and I got this lil reminder inked on us last night!
