Matatu commuters were stranded along Thika Super Highway for hours today morning after an accident occurred at the Muthaiga Police station exit.

The accident, which involved six cars caused a snarl-up on the busy Thika superhighway.

According to media reports a Virginia Coach bus veered off the road and hit the guard raid following the heavy rains.

The driver of the bus was trying to overtake another car and he lost control.
