Lupita Nyong'o has won over the hearts of many around the world. From Brazil to Ethiopia, her fans are always complimenting her on social media. She's made headlines for her ongoing anti-poaching campaign in the country and her future plans in Hollywood.

I take you through what has made Lupita more than just your average TV girl.

1. When she was named most beautiful woman in the world by People Magazine

People Magazine named Lupita the most beautiful woman in the world. Our girl graced the cover alongside other stellar women; Jennifer Lawrence, Julianna Margulies and Julia Roberts. "It was exciting and just a major, major compliment. I was happy for all the girls who would see me on [it] and feel a little more seen," she told People Magazine when she was informed about her cover appearance. She just in a league of her own!

2. When she sneaked into the country

If she was like any other celebrity - i.e. a D-list celebrity - she would have just jetted in and greeted everyone on the way. However, the first photo she posted was of her in the wild. This was part of her strict security protocol.

3. Her Oscar win

When Lupita Nyong'o won an Oscar award for her exemplary role in 12 Years A Slave, she ceased to be your average home girl. The beautiful lady got the approval that her talent is beyond exceptional and that she has potential to take on even bigger movie roles. Lupita has since been cast alongside big names such as Liam Neeson (in Non-Stop) and Daisy Ridley (in Star Wars: The Force Awakens.) Not an upcoming actress can have such a heavy weigh film role

4. Being chosen as an ambassador for Lancome USA

Lancome is a French luxury perfume and cosmetics brand. The company made Lupita their face back in November 2014.

"Lupita is an outstanding example of a natural beauty; confident and simply true to herself. She has this special kind of aura both enlightening and deep, making her by essence the Lancôme woman, to whom happiness is the most attractive form of beauty," the company said in a press release.

Lancome is part of L'Oreal Paris, one of the world's most popular cosmetics and beauty brands. How many Kenyan celebrities have been given such deals? This is enough proof that she's not just your average celebrity.

5. International celebrities adore her

From Brad Pitt to K'Naan, a horde of international celebrities have appreciated Lupita's work. They've interacted with her, supported her work and went on to welcome her into the Hollywood realm. Her fans also adore her too. Lupita Nyong'o has met with Vogue Editor-In-Chief Anna Wintour, Oprah Winfrey among other top celebrities.
