Music has been proven to be the most addictive drug in the world. It is no different in Kenya. As the Kenyan music industry continues to flourish a number of Kenyans have decided to venture into music production full time and sometimes they get tempted to record one or two songs.

Enough of this chit chat, here are the 5 Kenyans who I feel make better music producers than musicians;

1. Marcus (Camp Mulla)

He was the brains behind Camp Mulla's chart topping hits that everyone was singing along to a while back. His songs, Turnt Up (featuring his girlfriend Tiri) and Zone Out (featuring former Camp Mulla member, Taio Tripper) were big songs but are yet to give him the recognition that his music productions skills get him.

2. Ulopa

Ulopa Ngoma is a household name in Kenya. When Ulopa real name Paul Kibukosya began producing songs back in the 2000s, everybody could not help but take notice of him. His latest song "Kupick" is a big hit especially in the club scene and is further testament to his production skills. Ulopa, rudi kwa studio buana!

3. Refigah (Grandpa records)

The Refigah who did the song "Kadumala" and the Refigah who produces at Grandpa records are miles apart. For the last 3 years Grandpa records have ruled the airwaves with hit after hit due to Refigah's production prowress and leadership skills. Personally I think Refigah should continue concentrating on music production and spend less time on his music career.

4. Rapdamu

Na tuko pacho kwani iko nini!!

This has been one of the most famous lines musicians have been using over the past one year. This is due to the hard work Rapdamu has been putting in, inside the Pacho Entertainment studios. When he was a musician I'm sure you never took notice of him but now you do. Well done Rapdamu!

5. Timothy "Ennovator" Rimbui

His alias says it all. He is an innovator. The great thing about this man is that he knows his strengths are in music production, sound engineering and song writing. Once in a while you'll see him featured in a song but that's it! Keep on innovating Mr Ennovator!
