One of the many reasons why I love my workplace is that tea is part of the culture. In fact, my boss keeps a collection of green tea packets in his drawer. Guys come over to ask for a tea bag or two, as he has become the ‘tea’ guy in the office.

If your read my earlier article on the benefits of tea, you’ll realize that there’s so much that you can get from being a tea drinker. From warding off a host of cancers to strengthening the bones.

This time round, I want you to know some pretty amazing stuff about tea, a household drink here in Kenya.

There is an estimated 1,500 different types of tea

Yep, you had that right. From our very own Kenyan tea to the one produced in China, Afghanistan and the United States. Because of our excellent quality of tea, many countries import Kenyan tea -- they regard it as the finest.

They will be interacting and discussing how to make the tea business sustainable; indeed it is an important factor in the Kenyan economy. It takes place at Radisson Blu Hotel in Upperhill, from 11th - 12th May 2017/
