4Suspected Kabete MP Killers to be Arraigned in Court Today

At least four suspects said to have participated in the killing of Kabete MP George Muchai and his three aides are expected in court today.

Police say two others who are accomplices of the suspects are in custody and may too be arraigned as they weigh options on the way forward.

Police want to ask the court to allow  them to continue holding the suspects as investigations continue.

Among those in custody in the man who pulled the trigger that killed the four who is popularly known as “Chairman” amongst many in Kinoo and Uthiru areas of Nairobi.

Police are also holding a wife of one of the suspects who is said to been the custodian of the guns that the gang has been using in terrorizing residents.

A G3 rifle that was recovered from the suspects had bloodstains which are believed to be of Muchai and the other victims.

Kimathi Kairingia and driver Stephen Ituu Wambugu were killed by a lone gunman at the Uhuru Highway-Kenyatta Avenue Roundabout on February 7 at about 2.50 am.

A postmortem done on the bodies showed they died out of profuse bleeding and all had bullet wounds in the chest and heads.

They were robbed of a pistol loaded with 15 bullets and a briefcase.

Police are investigating the cause of the death of a man whose body was found dumped on the roadside in Clay City, Githurai 45, Nairobi.

The body seemed to have been dumped in the area after the man had been killed elsewhere. Police say they are yet to identify the man but efforts to do so are ongoing. At the weekend, another body was found in Jeevanjee Gardens in the city. Police are investigating both incidents.

A suspected thug has been killed by his accomplice in a disagreement in Huruma area, Nairobi. Police say they were called and informed of the incident this morning after a shootout involving the men. Locals told police the men had been arguing over unclear reasons before gunshots were heard and the accomplices escaped from the scene. Efforts to trace the men on the run are ongoing.
