As always, there are lots of wonderful performances at the signature event. Soulful tunes from past editions echo through my mind whenever I think about it. I am not the only one who loves it; the crowds that throng the venues are increasingly bursting. People from all walks of life are becoming fans.

This edition of the jazz festival will be held at Carnivore Grounds on Sunday, 30th April. The highly anticipated occasion will be celebrating the International Jazz Day, and is dubbed Kenyan Jazz All Stars Edition.

The revelers will be treated to the best of local jazz, with various talented acts headlining the event. Tickets are selling and running out fast. You can get yours at select Safaricom Shops, Safaricom Michael Joseph Centre, and via m-Ticketing by dialing 1511.

All the proceeds from ticket sales will go to the Ghetto Classics program, a community based programme that aims to transform lives of over 650 children in Korogocho, Huruma, Dandora and Mukuru kwa Reuben.

Some of the listed acts include Edward Parseen & the Different Faces Band. Edward is a Music Performance Graduate from Kenyatta University, and plays the tenor saxophone, trumpet and vocals.

He has graced various international jazz festivals such as The Royal Carre in Amsterdam (2009), Daughters of Africa tour (2009), Donors Dinner Concert; Utrecht Netherlands (2009), and local festivals such as Jazz under the Stars (2013/2014), and the Samosa Festival (2013/2014).
