If you love football, then you need to cash in on your passion. This is what’s happened to three football fans and players on the SportPesa gaming platform, Monday morning. They cashed in on their passion for the game and they each received a whooping sh. 8,819,633 as a split for last week’s Mid Week Jackpot.

One is a mechanic, Jackson Gitahi from Murang’a County. The other is a farmer, Nicholas Kirui from Kuresoi, Molo. The third is Daniel Sumaili from Tassia, Embakasi.

We were with them when they received their cheques in Nairobi after winning an equal share of last week’s KSh26,458,899 Mid Week Jackpot for correctly predicting the outcome of all the select 13 games.

“Before I went to sleep, I had prayed to God to win since I had a feeling I had made the correct choices. I was at home in Kitui with my ailing mother where we were discussing on what to do next” said Daniel, an ardent supporter of SportPesa Premier League side, Mathare United FC

“When I saw the text message early at 1AM, I could not sleep any more. Later, I went to my mothers’ room and told her our troubles were over,” revealed Daniel as he was still coming to terms with his windfall.

Interestingly, Sumaili’s win came at a most opportune time when he had lost his job and unsuccessfully tried his hand in farming.

His fellow Mid Week Jackpot winner, Gitahi, termed the payout as just reward for the faith he had on SportPesa changing his life.

“My biggest win before this was just KSh2,800 from a bet of KSh50. I never gave up. Today, I am here with my wife to celebrate this”, said Jackson

“I will now use this money to expand my garage. I am urging others to play regularly on this platform and look for the best odds in the market.” he continued

On a different note, 41 year-old tea farmer Kirui scooped the Mid Week Jackpot just six months after he started playing on SportPesa. His inspiration came from SportPesa Jackpot winner, Cosmas Korir, who won over KSh208m last September.

“Korir comes from Bomet which isn’t far from where I came from and I said to myself, if he can make it, so can I. I started gaming on SMS” he remarked

“With this money, I can now construct a house to live in and start farming new crops,” the Manchester United FC supporter told.

Several other gamers were awarded cash for their good attempt at the jackpot as follows:
