A university student has committed suicide under unclear circumstance in Mombasa County. Police say Doris Kagendo, a  student at Taita Taveta Campus had booked a guest house (Las Vegas) with her boyfriend on Friday within Kisimani area in Kisauni.

The two checked out on Saturday but the woman returned alone only to be discovered dead in the room.

A text message retrieved from the girl's mobile phone indicates she was worried about her health status after spending a night with the guy.

"The boyfriend went missing on Saturday and she was left stranded in Mombasa and decided to come back to the guest house where she committed suicide," According to sleuths probing the incident.

The young girl  had all her belonging including education certificate an indication she was ready to settle with the "boyfriend".

Area deputy OCPD Walter Abondo says her body was found hanging in the room and they are now pursuing the alleged boyfriend suspected to have dumped her on Saturday as police launch investigation.

Police will conduct an autopsy today at Coast general hospital morgue to establish the cause of death.

A source indicates that she was promised good life with her boyfriend who dumped her after spending the night with the lady on Friday. Police are tracing his mobile phone.

No suicide note was found in the room.
