In May this year, ombasa based promoter Dan Kinyanjui popularly known as Dan Sonko experienced the darkest and gloomiest of moments. He lost his loved wife Druscillah Sonko.

Dru delivered her newborn (second child) safely but later slipped into a comma.

Apparently, her body was unable to create any platelets following weak brain signals to the rest of her organs. She was rushed to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) where she passed on while receiving treatment.

7 months down the line, Dan Sonko still loves his wife even though she's not there physically and every day that falls, he pens a touching messages reminiscing the best moments they spent today.

In his latest post, he wrote'

"2017....

We celebrated your Birthday

10 Days later you signed off

I had my first birthday without you around

#Djibril_Sonko had his first birthday without you around

Honestly I dreaded Christmas....another first without you around

As we are about to trash the current calendar and put up a New one....it will be yet another first without you around

Your spirit lives on....that is one thing that is still around.....all around.....us.

It has not been an easy 7 months babes.

Moving on is easier said than done.

2017 goes down as the darkest and lowest in my life!

I dont know about 2018....I will not make any resolutions per se BUT I purpose to achieve a few things this year.

We will commit these things to God and see how to work towards them.

There will be sacrifices, There will be losses, There will be gains, There will be the usual ups and downs.....

What there won't be is the same thing I have been missing these past 7months - your reassuring voice, your immense support and advice, your warm embrace, Your.....#sigh

I surrender ALL to Him who directs our path.

He who knew us before we were born

He who called you home.

The curtains close on 2017

It will be a sombre one..... #CelebratingDru

#LoveConquersAll."
