The politicking that went on at Fidel Odinga's funeral attracted the ire of Kenyans the world over and none were as vocal as those on twitter:

but what most people did not realize is that Sonko also took politics to a funeral but unlike what unfolded in Bondo, he caught the full brunt of the disgruntlement tsunami! The people at the funeral were having none of the politicking and they stormed out on him!

The Nairobi Senator was at the funeral of the mother of former Kamukunji MP Simon Mbugua at Lang'ata cemetry when he begun his political rant.

It is reported that Sonko told off Evans Kidero and threw thinly veiled barbs at margaret Wanjiru who has defected to TNA from Cord and is said to be eyeing the governor's seat in the next general elections.

He is reported to have told politicians from Central kenya to forget about the governor's seat since they already have the presidency which prompted Starehe MP Maina Kamanda to storm out of the funeral.

When reached for a comment, he allegedly had this to say,

"This is a Nairobi problem and not a TNA one, like they want it to appear. I didn't insult anybody, neither did I insult any tribe because I value the support they have accorded me. My respect for the president cannot allow me to say such kind of things. My priority now is to serve the people as their senator. I have launched several programmes to this end to help the sick and less fortunate.

I am not scared of my detractors because votes are with the people, and not them. I am warning Mr. kamanda and any other leader who is orchestrating this, that they should not politicise my efforts to liberate Nairobians from poverty."
