The albino community is under threat in East Africa and across Africa. This is because there is a belief that their body parts confer goodluck and wealth. In Tanzania, the UN reports that more than 80 albinos have been killed since 2000.
AFP reports that more than 225 unlicenced doctors have been arrested across the country.
"Some of those arrested were found in possession of items like lizard skin, warthog teeth, ostrich eggs, monkey tails, bird claws, mule tails and lion skin," Advera Bulimba, a police spokesman told the agency.
Albinism is widespread in TZ, with one in 1,400 affected as compared to one in 20,000 affected in Western countries.
