A helicopter pilot was forced to make an emergency landing on a farm in Kiambu yesterday morning after the pilot sensed danger due to poor weather.  This happened only two weeks after a plane crashed in Limuru due to similar difficulty. The weather was not favorable so the man, identified by Daily Nation as Phil Matthews sought for a place to land.

The farm owner, Mr. Nene said the pilot may have found his farm as a perfect landing spot because he had recently cut his napier grass.

“He told me he was flying from Laikipia to Nairobi but had to land because of bad weather. He circled the area many times, which attracted the curiosity of locals," the farm owner said.

“The pilot switched off the engine and stayed there for about 40 minutes before taking to the skies again. He left me his contacts,” Nene said.

Two weeks ago, a light plane crashed on radio transmitters in Limuru, killing the pilot and leaving several radio stations off-air. Radio Africa Group was one of the affected media houses and the company . The deceased pilot, Captain Phinious Torut .
