They say family isn’t always by bond of blood. It’s the people in your life who want you in theirs. The ones you accept you for who you are. The ones who would do anything to see you smile, and who love you you no matter what. This perfectly explains the relationship between US President Barack Obama and his half-sister Auma Obama.

When Obama visited visited Kenya in 1988, JKIA staff didn't bother to help him after his luggage was taken to South Africa by mistake. Obama says he felt tired and abandoned at the airport, until his sister Auma showed up.

Auma had gone to pick him up in an old, baby-blue Volkswagen Beetle whose engine had come down with a tubercular knock, and the muffler had fallen off. (not the actual photo)

As we sputtered out onto the four-lane highway, Auma clutching the steering wheel with both hands, I couldn’t keep from laughing. “Should I get out and push?” -  Obama Says in his book "Dreams From My Father"

Last night, Obama returned the favor by allowing his half-sister Auma to ride with him in his 'Beast' as they headed to the Hotel where Obama met the whole family.

While at the airport Obama gave Auma the longest hug of the night as they conversed on their way to the ‘Beast’.
