The Kenyan gospel industry has been marred by a lot of controversy of late, but at the same time, it has shown some major growth to a point where it has overtaken the secular industry in terms of music.

Some Kenyan gospel artists have also been linked to a few controversies and others did what many don't expect from gospel singers as they are also considered christians.

Willy Paul has been linked to several scandals like; impregnating a lady then ordering her to abort, demanding for nude photos and videos, while Gloria Muliro was also criticised when she walked away from her marriage to Pastor Omba for allegedly cheating and beating her up, Betty Bayo was as well condemned for supporting Prophet Kanyari accused of conning his church members.

Now, away from the negative stories, let's focus on the good side of the gospel industry when it comes to music. We have had major collaborations between gospel artistes that have become hits while others did not do so well.

“It’s Sad To See The Kenyan Industry Struggling To Build International Artists While Our Own Are Languishing In Poverty” Willy Paul Rants

How about we dwell on collaborations we would like to see materialise today. The Kenyan gospel industry has numerous musicians, and not all have come together to produce or come up with songs for their fans.

So I decided to come up with a list of some gospel artists we would love to see do collabos. See the list below.

1. Willy Paul and Bahati

I know this two have not had the best relationship, especially after Willy Paul was accused by Bahati of stealing some of his songs and even went ahead to release them. But truth is, we would all want to see this frenemies make a song together and even perform it.

2. Gloria Muliro and Esther Wahome

This two are Kenya's gospel queens and are the best at what they do, and best part about it is that they would work well together because their genre of music is the same and being age mates would give them a good understanding of what content is needed in thier songs.

3. Ringtone and Juliani

Their genre of music may be different, with Juliani being more of a rapper, but I believe if this two joined hands, they would come up with great lyrics that would work for both their fans. You never know until you try, so Ringtone and the dope lyrist, Juliani, hook up soon.

4. Kambua and Size 8

Come to think of it, this ladies would sound spectacular together. They only sang together in the recent collabo in Willy Paul's song 'Sijafika' featuring Gloria Muliro. But I think they would do a get track if they tried it out.

5. Bahati and Jimmy Gait

Well, how about a collabo of the year, with Bahati and the somewhat silent Jimmy Gait. If Bahati could pull-off a collaboration with secular singers, King Kaka and Wyre, I'm sure he can make make a dope team with the 'Huratiti' hit-maker, Jimmy Gait.

6. Emmy Kosgei and Shiro Wa Gp

I know this sounds like a weird team up, because they both sing in their mother tongues, but remember even most of us still don't know what they say in their songs, without translation, and we still enjoy their music. I think this would be a great hit that would show support and respect for the different Kenyan communities.

7. Daddy Owen and Size 8

It so happens that Daddy Owen was one of her inspirations when Size 8 was merely a dancer and now after joining the gospel industry, she should team up with the Vanity singer for an amazing collabo, and I have no doubt that it would be a hit.

8. Betty Bayo and Gloria Muliro

The two female singers have had a not so happy ending to their marriages, and being talented, they should team up to write an inspirational song for women or anyone out there leaving in a violent or painful marriage. They have shown that resilience and being strong-willed is important even for gospel artists.

9. Kris Eeh Baba and DK Kwenye Beat

Their style of music is almost the same and I bet they can drop a dope collabo if they got to came together, musically. Kris Eeh Baba is best known for 'Mmh Baba', while DK Kwenye Beat's 'Asusu' is very popular and now they should give it a try and work together.

10. Benachi and Bahati

Benachi is well known for his hit song, Mwanake, featuring the late Kaberere and I'm sure a collabo between him and the young star would really be a massive hit. Bahati is never disappointing and I'm sure he would give it his all.
