The National Museums of Kenya has moved in to address rumors that snakes had escaped from their enclosure, owing to heavy rains that have been pounding the city.
The claim that snakes and reptiles had escaped from the park and aquarium had created fear among a section of Kenyans who called upon the Museum management to address their concerns.
National Museum in a statement quashed the reports that had alleged that reptiles were spotted prowling Kijabe Street, Kipande Road, Ojijo, and the Goan Gymkana area.
"This is to inform the public that at the National Museums of Kenya, the safety and Security of all our live exhibits are paramount. Each exhibit is securely housed in its appropriate enclosure, guaranteeing its well-being and preservation. We welcome you to explore our rich heritage with confidence at the National Museums of Kenya. " ended the statement.
Meanwhile, heavy rainfall and strong winds will continue until Monday next week according to the Met Department.
