Evelyn Wanjiru was raised in Nakuru where she met a man who would one day become her husband.

The gospel singer is in the US ministering and got candid with YouTuber Mkenya Marekani TV about her current hubby, Agundabweni Akweyu being her crush and the realization God had provided her with a man.

"I got attracted and I said, 'Who is this?' I could not withstand the pressure in me, the love was too much."

She unsuccessfully tried to attract Agunda for 8 months, but her plans weren't working out until one day he surprised her with a date request.

"I was so disappointed in him, kama kuna mwingine ata ni katia ata nikatia, kwani ni nini? We ishia. But ndani unakufa. You know sometimes a man can make you feel like you are not beautiful."

She got an inferiority complex vowing to move on. "We started talking and I was like, 'Father God you have brought a real West African in my face, what manner of love is this?'" she laughed at her story waiting for that opportunity.

She was given Sh200 by her mum in case he failed to pay the bill.

"I was a tomboy, I didn't even know how to dress." The date had her realizing she had no etiquette, "He taught me how to use a fork and knife.

"There are people when they are brought into your life, they sharpen you, must upgrade you. So that anybody who looked down on you, akikuona anakuona differently. You must glow somehow. Usipoglow kuna kasoro mahali."

Agunda informed her he was looking for a wife, "I was like, 'My God hata kama I have wanted you, amecome sana.'"

She told him to wait 4 years a sacrifice he was willing to make. "He said sawa," He resigned from his job and became her music producer, they opened a studio together, then a production house,

4 years passed.

On April 7, 2012, they got married. The journey has been wonderful since.
