More than 20 tenants in a building in Kiambu, Kiamumbi area have been urged to vacate.

The apartment started developing cracks and later started sinking.

Speaking during the inspection, Kiambu governor Kimani Wamatangi said that the county government will do everything possible to help those affected.

He directed the police officers and locals to keep vigil and allow all the tenants to vacate.

"I would like to urge locals and tenants to keep off this building. It's not safe for habitation," Wamatangi said.

He further said that the county government is doing everything possible to help those in dire needs

"The county government is ready to help those affected by the continuous rain and we are determined to resolve any issue," he said.

"Those affected can seek shelter at ACK church and from there we can channel any help from County government," he said.
