Murder suspect Joseph 'Jowie' Irungu is out on bail and during his free time, he worked on a song that was released this week called Nishikilie.

Jowie had an interview with comedian Jalango on his Bonga na Jalas Youtube series.

Asked if excessive drinking and partying led to him getting in trouble. Jowie responded by going on a long tirade about how people let him down and drinking has nothing to do with his downfall.

"Nope. People got me in trouble. Drinking is even in the Bible. Drinking is for the miserable and dying. But we are all dying. I'm not going to judge. I have been there. There are people who drink just to give thanks for the day, for achievements...Kenyans drink for everything hata wakienda choo anakunywa. I decided to hold down for a minute so that I concentrate and focus on music. And have peace."

This is the reason, Jowie has not been going out to clubs and partying like he did before he was incarcerated.

Speaking to Jalango he added,

"I have been taking care of myself. Trying to take care of myself. I won't lie. What we are doing today is the best thing since I came out from Sobibo (prison). You have embraced me and put me in a level that I cannot explain. Because I have been down low mentally, family-wise. I needed a breather. I believe God is found in silence. I had to go down. Relax. Take care of my daughter and mama kidogo and give thanks to people like you, family."

Asked if any of his many friends reached out to him after he was arrested for the murder of Monicah Kimani or when he needed bail. Jowie explained,

"To me, I don't have friends. I just have family. I don't believe there are friends. Humans lie to each other. Because you can imagine where we have being and the people we have known a while back. A lot of things have changed and that is where you learn how people view you, their perspective towards you and what they have always been thinking about you."

Jalango asked him if his clique of friends let him down. Without mincing his words, Jowie said,

"All my friends let me down. All. Known, unknown. Close not close. All of them let me down only family stood by me with their prayers."

Adding,

"I remember one day you posted that you miss these days. That thing when I was in Sobibo ilinitouch sana. Because now I realised family is still there. Family is silent, it prays on their own and they know when to remember you. You don't tell them when to remember you. That small thing gives you hope. Somebody misses this moment and it was not a bad moment."

Jowie continued,

"All my friends let me down. I know I don't have a friend and I'm okay with that. Actually I'm at peace because now I don't have to pretend and waste my time. I don't believe in friends and I don't need them. Family will check up on you. Even if not directly will ask how is this small guy doing."

Jowie revealed that when his family was doing a campaign to raise money for his bail, some of his boy's used the opportunity to fundraise and kept the money to themselves.

"Some of those friends took advantage of that wakakulia hapo. I have no fight with you. All I'm dwelling on is, may God's will be done."
