After a year-long stint at the Kimathi Street-based TV station, NTV news anchor Olive Burrows announced her departure from Nation Media Group.

Reflecting on her time at NTV, she expressed gratitude for the opportunities and friendships she found during her six years there.

"You guys have been working to see me cry today, I will wait for it to start raining (laughs) then I’ll blame it on the sound," she humorously remarked after receiving farewell messages from colleagues.

Sources familiar with her plans reveal that she will be joining Citizen TV, reportedly to fill the void left by Victoria Rubadiri, who recently departed to join CNN.

Burrows acknowledged the pivotal role NTV played in her career and personal growth, emphasizing the strong bonds forged with her colleagues.

"I love you guys. It has been an absolute privilege working here at the Nation Media Group for the last six years," she expressed her appreciation.

She highlighted the station's decision to take a chance on her, leading to fruitful outcomes both professionally and personally.

"They took a chance on me, and it has paid off, not just careerwise but also the friendships, and we remain comrades in arms because this craft we are in together for the greater good of Kenyans," Burrows reflected.

Prior to her tenure at NTV, Burrows served as a news anchor at Capital FM.

Victoria Rubadiri, who anchored weekend news alongside veteran Jeff Koinange, departed from NTV earlier.
