Former KBC anchor Bonnie Musambi lands new plum job at State House

Musambi will be working alongside State House spokesperson Hussein Mohamed to coordinate all communication matters at the Office of the President.

• Musambi left KBC after 14 years in January 2022, following an announcement on December 2021.

• He is the founder of a local Radio station; Sang'u FM.

Former KBC channel 1 News Anchor Bonnie Musambi has been appointed as the new director of coordination in the office of State House spokesperson.

The former KBC radio host announced the good news via his Facebook page, thanking President William Ruto for the opportunity to serve in his government.

Wow! Just wow! My immeasurable gratitude to God and you Mr. President, for my appointment as Director Coordination, office of State House spokesperson.

"I promise my full dedication and loyalty to you and all Kenyans... To my family, fans and political supporters, I will never let you down," Musambi said in part.

Musambi lauded former Machakos Senator Johnson Muthama for mentoring him.

"Special thanks to Commissioner Hon. Johnson Nduya Muthama for mentorship and unwavering support.

"To my family, fans and political supporters, I will never let you down," he said.

The ex-Kitui Central parliamentary hopeful will be working alongside State House spokesperson Hussein Mohamed to coordinate all communication matters at the Office of the President.

Musambi joined Kenya Broadcasting Corporation in 2007 as a radio host and over the years he was a TV news anchor for Kiswahili bulletins and commentator since November 2009.

He is popularly known for his unique style of ending his bulletins.

Bonnie also used to be a debate moderator for the popular BBC Sema Kenya show. He is also a gospel artiste and comedian.

He loves rhumba music, can speak Lingala and his favourite meal is roast potatoes served with fried beef.

He is married to Betty Mwende Musambi and they have two kids together.
